Bitter Pill Selected for a Book Club Read

Discovering your book is going to be read by a book club is both exciting and nerve-wracking!

I recently discovered that Henley-in-Arden book club had picked Bitter Pill as their book of the month.

Hearing this news thrilled me, but also made me slightly nervous about my novel being the subject of discussion. Bitter Pill is about rivalry, betrayal and a fractured friendship. It covers themes of conventional vs holistic medicine, relationships and medical choices. To learn more, go here https://ajlinney.co.uk/bitter-pill/

My aim as a writer is to give a reader pleasure and escapism. A reader might buy a book because of the blurb, the cover, a review, a recommendation, the author, or other factors that have piqued their interest.

I learned that at least ten people in the Henley-in-Arden club bought Bitter Pill, which brings me satisfaction and gratitude.

Since these readers will no doubt have diverse preferences in genre and style, their feedback offers valuable insights beyond those who chose Bitter Pill themselves.

While I am apprehensive about my writing facing scrutiny, I am also grateful for the chance to have my first novel critiqued.

Though my book might not appeal to everyone, I hope some readers will find it enjoyable. Perhaps they might even recommend it to others. The very fact that there is an interest in Bitter Pill inspires me to keep on writing.

I am eagerly waiting to hear what they have to say!
